Sleep neurology

Architecture-level evidence for sleep neurologists and sleep medicine practices: an option for hypnotic-averse patients and for patients whose wearable data shows a low proportion of deep and REM sleep.

Why sleep architecture matters

Most sleep aids are judged on onset and continuity. Defined Sleep's trial measured what specialists actually care about: the objectively recorded proportion of deep (slow-wave) and REM sleep. In the FDA-registered Phase 2 crossover trial, participants with severe insomnia experienced increased deep and REM sleep and decreased light sleep, measured nightly by validated wearable actigraphy.

Use cases in sleep medicine practice

  • Patients who decline or wish to discontinue prescription hypnotics
  • Patients presenting with wearable data showing a low restorative-sleep proportion
  • Shift workers — the most responsive subgroup in the trial

“I recommend Defined Sleep to my patients with insomnia because it is highly effective, backed by a clinical trial, and safer than most OTC sleep aids.”
