Which patients are appropriate for Defined Sleep?
A structure/function supplement that supports restorative sleep — with clear guidance on where it fits, and where it does not.
Appropriate patient profiles
- Adults reporting poor sleep quality or non-restorative sleep, including those whose wearable data shows low deep/REM proportion
- Patients who decline prescription hypnotics, or for whom sedating medication is undesirable (fall risk, next-day grogginess, occupational alertness requirements)
- Melatonin non-responders and patients reporting melatonin grogginess
- Shift workers — the most responsive subgroup in our clinical trial
- Patients seeking a non-habit-forming nightly option
When to refer or evaluate further
Defined Sleep supports sleep; it is not a treatment for sleep disorders. Consider evaluation or referral for suspected obstructive sleep apnea, parasomnias, restless legs syndrome, or when insomnia is secondary to a psychiatric or medical condition requiring management.
What Defined Sleep is not
- Not a hypnotic and not sedating — it will not “knock a patient out”
- Not habit-forming
- Not indicated to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease
